What to Expect

Our aim is to make your visit to Amethyst Chiropractic Clinic as relaxed and pleasant as possible. After filling in some brief paperwork and getting changed in a clean, private cubicle you will be called in to see your chiropractor.

During your first visit, the chiropractor will take a full and detailed medical history. A thorough physical will be carried out, including orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic examination as well as discussing any health-related issues and concerns. You will then receive a diagnosis of the problem, with an explanation of what may have caused the problems, along with a proposed treatment plan, tailored to your needs.

Same-Day Treatment

Once the examination is complete, patients will have their first treatment during this same visit. Before leaving, you’ll be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be carried out at home, which may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, and some home exercises.

Subsequent Treatment Visits

Once you have a working diagnosis your Chiropractor will have a plan and procedure to follow, with the aim not only to eradicate any momentary pain or discomfort but to home in on the cause of your problem and do what is necessary to achieve long-term relief.

Each visit to the clinic will build on the last and your case will be regularly reviewed to ensure your overall condition is on track and is continuously improving. If at any time we feel you are not progressing as we might expect we would undergo and request a further investigation and, in some cases, refer you onto the appropriate care.

Chaperone Notice

All patients are entitled to have someone else with them during any consultation, examination, or procedure. This person is called a chaperone. A chaperone can be someone you know (who is over 18 years old) or one of our staff.

Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request when booking your appointment so that arrangements can be made, and your appointment is not delayed. Where this is not possible, we will try to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request.

Your  Chiropractor  may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.
